what is the role of the nurse in teaching a client about Painful intercourse?

Cierra Gadbaw: Also, if you are a female and the doctor is male, the nurse is there as a safety net for the doctor. That way she can verify that no inappropriate touching occurs.

Lahoma Beadell: The role of the nurse is as educator. She/he must research the subject of dyspareunia ( medical term for painful intercourse) well and present the client/patient with accurate medical information as to causes and types ( there are three types of painful intercourse) The nurse should listen to the clients/patients concerns with empathy and understanding and assure her that although it may take a few visits to a gynecologist or other health care provider experienced in women’s health and painful intercourse specifically, the cause of dyspareunia can usually be identified and treated. The nurse can take the medical history and help the client/patient with preparing questions to ask the health care professional during their visit....Show more

Efren Clankscales: you d! on't need a medical degree to know basics. to a nurse cases such as painful intercourse wouldn't be uncommon. he/she has probably had more contact with patients than the actual doctors.

Booker Moros: Be honest? Answer questions. I mean depends what kind of painful intercourse you're talking about. The first time will be painful...and you can want sex to be painful? But then there are times that it hurts and it shouldnt and u can educate ur clients about why that is, and when pain isnt normal.
