You create an image, hiding what you want to hide and reveal what you want to reveal, unless you use it to keep in touch with non-virtual friends.Cultivate hobbies. It helped me. Read, try writing, travel, go for walks, join clubs, threatre groups, enrol for extra-curricular activity classes... If you travel, you not only ! will meet many ppl, you'll learn more about their habits and cultures, and therefore about life.Do the things you love. That's the best part about being homeschooled. It gives you the flexibility you require. I love writing, and while I was being homeschooled I read and improved my writing skills like no one's business. I learnt dancing, art, travelled and studied simultaneously.Basically remember you're free. Free to learn and educate yourself without someone watching down your shoulder, free to travel and see the world.And go on trekking tours, if nothing else. Try diving. Discover the world around you. German Thal: You might want to option facebook a little bit, I'm home schooled and I have home schooled groups on there where you just talk to other home schoolers! I really don't recommend virtual world games, just being honest. I used to play those and their total time takers.It really deprives you from a lot of other activites you could do such as Home School groups you could attend, or classes. BUT, my friend goes on a site called roblox.com and I've seen it played before, I believe you can talk to! but if you're wanting any friends you should try taking up a sport!(or what I suggested above)I hope I helped!!...Show more
Wally Gower: I would not suggest using websites to meet friends. You can't make real, lasting friendships over the internet. If you're a church go-er, get involved with youth nights. That's where I met my two best friends and other awesome f! riends of mine. Google clubs in your area that aren't affiliated with a school. 4-H is fun! Do you have anything you've always wanted to try? Theater, sports, dance, etc.? Get involved in that. Meeting people with similar interests creates a quick bond. Would your parents let you join a homeschool co-op/group? Those are AWESOME. I definitely would not recommend trying to make friends through the internet. It takes up a lot of your time, and you'll find yourself with no true friends. I'm homeschooled too, and I know it's a little harder, but you can definitely make friends through activities....Show more
