What happens is you cancel a check that was gonna pay for your car registration?

Betsey Copp: You don't have the right to cancel payments because your husband made a poor decision and bought a car with problems. One has nothing to do with the other.

Mahalia Brindle: Cancelling the check was pretty dumb. That just means you bounced a check with the DMV. You should have let it go through and gotten a refund. Pay the fees if you don't want the state sending it to a collection agency. Tell them to cancel the registration. It's up to the DMV if they want you to pay a fee other than the bad check fee.

Noah Deni: 2

Roxane Leathers: The payment for the registration was for the car you no longer own. It has no affect on your drivers license or anything else. Just send the bill back and note that the car was bought back from you by the dealer a few days after you sent in the registration. If you owe anything it may be a small processing fee.
